Hardware > Logitech Precision Gaming Headset Review

For many computer users, finding the right pair of headphones is key. The Gamer tends to look for something with style, comfort, a decent microphone, and respectable sound quality. Logitech has taken these attributes and put them into a nice, neat package with the Precision PC Gaming Headset.

The package comes with a basic Quick Start Guide for those who have never used a headset, plus a 10-foot cable and the headset itself. The headset wraps around the back of the head to attach to the ears, and with the way the headset is designed, it shouldn’t mess up your precious hair (because we gamers are known for being stylish to a fault). It does lead to some minor discomfort on your ears, which is worsened if you have glasses or earrings. The design does allow for air circulation that is a definite plus, since stopping in the middle of a long game to clean sweaty ears is no fun.

The microphone is nicely placed next to the cheek, away from the face and hardly noticeable in peripheral vision. It has built in Noise-Canceling, which reduces background noise. Don’t plan on picking up your voice from any great distance away from the headset; the Noice-Canceling is quite effective. The one complaint that I have with this headset is the volume control. The control itself is a circular dial, which turns left or right to control volume. While easy to see, it is hard to move in one direction or another. The only kind of grip is a small white dot that tells you the volume level. This could be dramatically improved through either making it a sliding volume control or putting more friction stubs on the control.

All in all, Logitech’s Precision PC Gaming Headset is a good buy at $30. It’s produced from excellent materials that appear to be pretty durable, features a cool and original design that isn’t too compromising to comfort, and a really good quality from the speakers and microphone. This is certainly a good buy for any gamer.

Greats: - Durable and original design - Good sound and microphone quality - Long cord - Black

Breaks: - Requires whole ears or it will fall off - Volume control difficult to turn

Specifications: - 3.5mm plug - In-line controls - Noise-canceling microphone - PC Stereo - Sensitivity: -58 dBV/uBar, -38 dBV/Pa ±4dB - Frequency Response: - Headset: 20-20,000 Hz - Microphone: 100-16,000 Hz - Cable Length: 10 feet - Gold Plated Audio Connectors
