To begin with who are you and what's
your mod?

Hello, my name is Job_314, I'm the
mod lead. The mod I'm working on is
called The Survivors.
HLGamer.com:
How long has the mod been under
development?
Job_314:
The mod is very new, we've only been
under development for a maximum of 4
months.
HLGamer.com:
Tell me a little about the Survivors
mod
Job_314:
Well, The Survivors mod will take
place in a fictional park of
England. Each player will ideally
spawn with a unique weapon,
promoting team play. Other weapons
can be found and acquired throughout
a map. There will be two types of
players in the mod. The Survivors,
which are the remaining humans
within England, and The Infected.
The Infected is the entire populace
of the people that have been
infected with the virus. This virus
"re-animates" the body after the
brain has been killed. With the
brain dead, only the basic instincts
remain... the need to eat, drink,
breathe and so forth.
The Survivors mod will surround a
reaming group of individuals who
fight for there lives against
insurmountable odds. It's up to the
player how things play out.

How long will it take you to release
a playable build to the public?
Job_314:
Well... I guess that depends on
one's definition of "playable", The mod is currently playable, but
is missing tons of features we
intend to add down the road. But
once we can get a coder working
things will move much faster, until
then, I can't really promise
anything. Doing so would set a
deadline, and we don't have the
required people to finish what we
need, sorry.

With Half life 2 mods becoming more
and more popular where do you think
yours will end up?
Job_314:
I hope the mod can stick around for
a good while, I mean... I know these
style of mods are popular, and I really
want to keep this one going for as
long as possible. I hope people will
enjoy it and take the mod places...
So I guess only time can tell where
the mod will go.

Can you explain the ideas you put it
into The Survivors mod?
Job_314:
I put most of the ideas into the
mod, all influenced by films like
Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead,
and 28 Days Later. But many of the
team members have shared their
ideas, and most of them have been
great. Which is what is neat about
working with others, just hearing
their thoughts. Tons of their ideas
have been implemented. Though, I'm
not ready to give it all away. Once
these features have been added, I'll
release media regarding the subject.

Have you done anything to help
incorporate the community into your
mod (such as releasing FGD's and
then accepting user made maps,
etc.)?
Job_314:
I think we all try to spread the mod
respectively, and I hope it's
working. I mean, I've seen the stats
on how many pages views we received on
the site, I just wish those people
would register in the forums and
become more active in the TS
community.

Fast-paced urban gameplay with an

What idea made you create the
Survivors mod?
Job_314:
Danny Boyle's film, "28 Days Later"
was one of the most fantastic films
I've seen. When I was watching it,
just watching Jim wander about
London, before he meets up with Mark
and Selena.. really made me wonder
where I could go if I were in
control of the character... where I
would hide. That sparked the thought
of how cool it might be being able
to control the characters throughout
the movie. Thus this mod was born.
